NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of IMSA-Technical Systems Engineer based in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.
This person is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing of technology, software, and processes related to IMSA Competition.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Scope of project responsibilities range from vehicle level, track/pit-lane, and server/cloud.
- Leads development, integration, and operations of vehicle and trackside electronic systems associated with IMSA Competition.
- Responsible for architecture, development, implementation, and oversight of electronic systems, software, and processes related to IMSA Competition.
- Manages cross-platform integration of systems, networks, databases, and interfaces related to IMSA Competition operations including vehicle level, trackside, pit-lane, paddock, and server/cloud.
- Works closely with other IMSA departments and stakeholders on technology and data integration.
- Directly interfaces with suppliers of electronics, software, and services.
- Leads scope, requirements, development, sourcing, documentation, integration, and operations of third-party sourced vehicle, trackside, and virtual systems.
- Assists in research and development of new vehicle platforms.
- Assist in regulation authoring and aide stakeholders with rules interpretation.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Approximate travel 50% including weekends.
Required skills / experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; and at least five (5) years of experience in the motorsports industry.
- Professional motorsports experience required.
- High level of understanding of motorsport vehicle electronics and control systems
- Professional experience with motorsports data acquisition and electronics
- Skilled with Excel+VBA, MATLAB, C
- Strong work ethic, unquestionable integrity, and commitment to excellence
- Adept at multitasking and project management
- Drive for the highest quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Data-driven decisions using solid engineering fundamentals.
- Proficient on all Company-provided hardware and software.
- Skilled with Excel, data interpreter platforms, and data logging configurators.
- Programming experience in MATLAB preferred. Experienced with both CAD and IT network technologies.
