General Description:
The Project Manager will oversee and streamline the operations of the Ravens Brand & Advertising team, with a focus on graphic design tasks, ensuring that all projects are completed, deadlines are met, and our brand identity is maintained.
The role will involve reviewing and assigning incoming tasks, keeping projects on schedule, maintaining clear communication with designers and key stakeholders, and recapping projects upon completion. They will also be responsible for trafficking assets and coordinating production with external vendors.
The manager may help prepare files for printing, proofread final materials, make edits and assist with design requests as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Task Management
- Monitor incoming requests through the graphic department’s internal request tool (Asana); evaluate each project to ensure all information is provided correctly; and assign tasks in consultation with the department head based on project requirements, designer availability and deadlines
Project Scheduling & Workflow Management
- Proactively develop task lists, requirements and schedules for key projects and campaign launches
- Monitor the progress of projects, keep status reports and track milestones to ensure on-time delivery
Print Vendor & Artist Coordination
- Liaise with external vendors to coordinate production needs, secure print specifications, determine timelines, deliver production files, review and route proofs internally, stay on budget and ensure both quality and timely delivery
- Work with commissioned artists on project timelines and deliverables for murals and other art program initiatives
Asset Management & Traffic
- Work with Manager, Advertising & Media to traffic final advertising assets to external media outlets and internal media points of contact
- Manage digital and physical files, assets, and resources related to completed projects
- Be a resource for organizational asset requests (fonts, logos, templates, etc..)
Communication & Reporting
- Facilitate effective communication between team leaders, graphic designers, key stakeholders, and other groups to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations
- Serve as a point of contact for requesters to provide updates and address inquiries related to project status
- Present status reports and prepare recap presentations of key initiatives
Quality Assurance & Proofreading
- Seek input and approval on key art from the Sr. Director, Brand Strategy & Advertising
- Review and approve final design outputs to ensure accuracy, proper punctuation & grammar, and that they adhere to the team’s brand guidelines
Graphic Design
- As needed, revise designs and make edits to existing creative materials
- Handle design tasks that fit skill set
- Create visual status reports and recap presentations
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, project management, or a related field
- 7+ years of related experience within a creative environment, preferably in the advertising, sports or entertainment industry
- At least 2 years of experience in a project management role
- Must be proficient in project management software and tools including Asana, as well as applications used for presentations such as PowerPoint or Keynote
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles and workflows
- Experience coordinating production with printers and other external vendors while managing production processes
- Must possess strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Must be able to work well within a team and understand elements of our brand and style guide
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to take initiative, and be able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and team members
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Writing and/or copy-editing experience a plus
Salary and Benefits:
- Range: $81,000 – $97,000
- Company-paid health insurance, including health and vision. Dental insurance also provided with minimal employee contribution
