NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Operations Manager based in Chicago, Illinois. 

This position will perform a variety of duties necessary to plan and execute the inaugural NASCAR Chicago Street Race weekend, scheduled for July 1-2, 2023, and subsequent race weekends in 2024 and beyond. Duties will include preparations and conduct of all aspects of the racetrack, garages/paddock, and public areas, working with the CSC team, NASCAR departments, broadcast partners, various City of Chicago departments, contractors, vendors, and other involved parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with CSC full-time team on operations-oriented tasks to include facility layout, event experience, crowd management, pedestrian movements, corporate and club hospitality, signage production and placement, etc.
  • Assist Four Leaf Productions (guest-facing management consultant) with contracting, scheduling, and supervision of all guest amenities – temporary clubs and grandstand seating, concert production, facilitation of catering and concessions, restrooms, access control, etc.
  • Advance coordination and event execution with City Of Chicago departments including Fire, Police, Emergency Management, Public Works, and others.
  • Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer systems & programs, a smartphone, and ABI. Microsoft Office suite knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree preferred; high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of four years of special event operations experience and/or training.
  • Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to withstand physical challenges of respective multi-tasks.
  • Position may require travel as requested.
